------------------------------------------------------------------- [We apologize if you receive multiple copies of this message] ******************************************************************** ** CALL FOR PAPERS ** SUBMISSION DEADLINE: January 31, 2006 Topic 2: Performance Prediction and Evaluation EURO-PAR 2006 August 29 - September 1, 2006 Dresden University of Technology, Dresden, Germany Web site: http://www.europar2006.de/ Email: europar@zih.tu-dresden.de ******************************************************************** TOPIC 2 - DESCRIPTION Parallel computing enables solutions to computational problems that are impossible on sequential systems due to their limited performance. To meet this objective, it is critical that users can both measure performance on a given system and predict the performance for other systems. Authors are invited to submit papers presenting all fields of performance modeling, evaluation, prediction, measurement, benchmarking, and visualization for parallel and distributed applications and architectures. This workshop covers all aspects of techniques, implementations, tools, standardization efforts, and characterization and performance-oriented development of distributed and parallel applications. Of particular interest are tools and systems that work with large-scale applications or large numbers (hundreds to thousands) of processors. In addition, approaches to understand memory system performance and storage system performance are encouraged. Focus - instrumentation for measurement and prediction - scalable performance prediction models and techniques - measurement and modelling of grid middleware & applications - performance data analysis and visualization - evaluation and benchmarking - system and hardware monitoring - performance of different programming models - case studies involving tuning of real applications - automatic performance analysis - modeling, analysis, and tuning of emerging architectures ----------------------------------------------------------------------- KEY DATES December 31, 2005: Workshop proposals due January 31, 2006: Full papers due May 3, 2006: Notification of acceptance May 30, 2006: Camera-ready papers and author registration due ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBMISSION DETAILS Authors are invited to submit full papers (10 pages, Springer LNCS style) to this topic, by using the online submission site: http://www.europar2006.de/index.php?page=1 Online submission will be open before the end of December 2005. Each year, the conference normally attracts more than 300 participants coming from universities, research centres and industry. Euro-Par 2006 will represent 18 topics (http://www.europar2006.de/index.php?page=3) in the categories of hardware, software, algorithms and applications, and will also include tutorials, invited talks, and co-located workshops. Besides, the planed Grid Village provides an opportunity to showcase the latest developments in Grid technology with demonstration and hands on experiences. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
